@EJCenter: “Daniel Archer (@archcomix), Founder of Empathetic Media, showcased some of their projects and explained how, through VR and 360, they put the viewers in “other people’s shoes and foster a connection between audience and storytellers”. For example, the Michael Brown Shooting project allows the user to become an eyewitness of the events occurred in Ferguson in 2014. The piece recreates, through VR and graphic journalism, the shooting of Brown according to the people who testified during the trial. With this, the user is free to explore the scenery and to extract his own conclusions. Daniel pointed at the fact that this type of journalism gives agency to the user and, by creating an immersive experience, the empathy grows.”
